4th Annual Scituate North Pole Express, December 3rd, 2011
On Saturday December 3rd, 2011 the 4th annual Scituate North Pole Express will be sponsored by the Scituate C.O.R.S.E Foundation (Community of Resources for Special Education) and S.H.O.R.E. (Scituate High Opportunities and Resources for Education). This magical event will be held at the Greenbush Commuter Rail Station with four trains departing at 9:45 AM, 12:30PM, 2:40PM and 4:40PM. Passengers should arrive 30 minutes prior to departure of their scheduled times. Children and adults alike will enjoy this 60-90 minute train ride which replicates the journey to the North Pole as told in the classic story of “The Polar Express”. Along the ride the children will be read this holiday story, be served milk and cookies, sing Christmas carols, receive a goody bag and be greeted by holiday characters including Santa and Mrs. Claus. The cost of this event is $20; children under the age of 1 year old will ride free on the lap of an adult. Tickets may be purchased with cash or a check at The Front Street Book Shop, 165 Front St, Scituate Harbor or online.
