Teacher Troubles
Jenna puts a smart girl back on track.
Q: "My math teacher hates me! I'm always getting in trouble in class and now I'm failing. I don't want to tell my parents and I don't want to be in that class anymore, so what do I do?"
Jenna: Oh, I remember being in math class...where time basically stops! I dreaded certain classes, especially math. Don't stress! Okay, here we go!
First of all, your teacher doesn't hate you! Think to yourself, are you applying yourself? Are you not paying attention? Disturbing the class? You're bored, right? Well, your teachers push you to do your best. They're just doing their job! When they are hard on you it's because they believe in you and know that you can do better. You know you can do better, too, so it's time to stop making excuses.
Second, you don't want to tell your parents. So then take on the responsibility and turn the situation around! Ask your teacher if you can stay after school for some extra help. Show the effort! Remember, a little goes a long way.
If that doesn't work, go to your guidance counselor and see what the options are. Maybe there is another class that you'd work better in. And then, yes, you'll have to tell your parents and perhaps they'll set up a meeting with your teacher. But whatever you do, don't be scared! I bet your parents will respect your decision and be so happy that you switched to a class where you're learning. It's better than getting bad grades!
Everyone learns differently! Now listen to me, you're a smart and fabulous girl! Now go make the honor roll !!!
Chick chat with ya later!
